About Bold Ice
The Bold Ice Skating Challenge is SQSA Parade’s home competition, held every February at Parade Ice Garden in Minneapolis. Skaters of every age and level are welcome — from first-timers just learning to stroke and glide to seasoned freestyle skaters performing solo and team programs — and the event draws entries not just from SQSA but from clubs and rinks across the Twin Cities and beyond, including Buffalo, Cottage Grove, White Bear Lake, and St. Louis Park.
Over two days spread across two rinks, skaters compete in dozens of events spanning nearly every discipline in the sport: jumps and spins, footwork, artistic and dramatic spotlights, interpretive and character programs, and synchronized and production team numbers. With friends, family, and coaches cheering rinkside and a full slate of judges and referees on hand, Bold Ice brings together the whole SQSA community for a weekend that’s equal parts competition and celebration.
