ISI Membership

We are proud members of the Ice Sports Industry (ISI), an international organization dedicated to making ice skating accessible, fun, and rewarding for skaters of all ages and abilities.

About ISI

Founded in 1959, ISI focuses on recreational skating and skill development in a positive, supportive environment. ISI programs are designed to help skaters build confidence, progress at their own pace, and enjoy the ice—whether their goal is hockey, figure skating, or simply skating for fun.

Benefits of ISI Membership

  • Structured Skill Progression: Clear, achievable levels that guide skaters from beginner through advanced skills.
  • Confidence-Focused Learning: A supportive environment that encourages success at every stage.
  • Opportunities to Participate: Optional recreational competitions and events for those who want to take the next step.
  • Inclusive for All Skaters: Programs designed for children, teens, and adults—whether recreational or performance-focused.
  • Nationally Recognized Program: ISI is used by skating programs across the country, providing consistency and credibility.

ISI Skill Levels

ISI uses a structured progression system that allows skaters to advance step-by-step as they build skills and confidence.

  • Tots: Introductory skating for ages 3–5
  • Pre-Alpha: Basic movement, gliding, and balance
  • Alpha – Delta: Core skating skills including stroking, crossovers, stops, turns, and edges
  • Freestyle 1–10: Advanced skills including jumps, spins, and combinations

Skaters progress at their own pace, with evaluations built into each level to ensure they are confident and ready before moving forward.
